Have you heard about Maybelline Stilleto Run? I don't know about you but I think whoever came up with this event didn't think this through.
Here's the copy of the visuals.

Why do I find this idiotic?
One, a race wearing high heels? Seriously? Just imagine a lot of women tumbling down because of those high heels. As it is, wearing high heels is bad for your body. One obvious effect is that it leads to foot pain. These shoes also cause a lot bunions, hammertoes and ankle injuries.
If walking wearing high heels is bad, running could be worse!!
Okay, let's say that it's not really a race and more like a fun run. Even then, it's wrong. Why? Because Maybelline Philippines is making fun of the running community. Running is a big thing here in the country and runners--whether newbies or seasoned--take running seriously. Sure, it's a fun thing to do but they run because they have goals in life--get healthy and lead an active lifestyle. And runners run with a lot of preparation like hydrating, wearing proper running clothes and proper footwear, etc.
By coming up with this event, you are destroying the very essence of running. You're asking your participants to wear improper footwear. Pfft!
And worse, you're asking participants to buy something. Well, sure, buying the Stilleto Mascara is probably a lot cheaper than most runs but why is it that only 100 registrants are qualified. For what? For a raffle or the actual run itself?
I can go on and on but I'll let my readers come up with their own conclusions. Masyado lang pinilit na ikabit yung Stilleto Mascara sa run. Pfft!
